Ken Gan is a photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. He has a background in civil engineering and spent many years working in the water industry in his home city. His photographic interest started out as a hobby concentrating on travel shots. This then extended to capturing twilight shots around the city, during the short interval when  lights are first switched on and the sky turns a deep blue so that mundane daytime scenes turn magical and mysterious. Since leaving the water industry, Ken has taken up portrait and people photography because he feels that it is a more meaningful use of the medium, one which evokes a higher level of interest, curiosity and engagement from viewers, subjects and photographers alike.

Ken Gan approaches his portrait and people photography  from a desire to create artistic, evocative and beautiful images.
